This form is for minors who are applying at the same time as their parent or who already have a Canadian parent. The application form should be completed by the minor’s parent or guardian.
Minors who are permanent residents and who do not have a parent applying for citizenship at the same time as them or who do not already have a Canadian parent can use the following form: Application for Canadian Citizenship – Adults (18 years of age and older) under subsection 5(1).
Minors who don’t have a parent or guardian who can complete the application form on their behalf can request a waiver of the requirement to have a parent or guardian complete it on their behalf.
If that is the case, IRCC will ask for additional information.
